Easter Calendar 2007

Plan your Easter activities in advance with our 2007 Easter calendar. Remember that Easter dates change each year.

  • Palm Sunday - 1st April 2007 - Palm Sunday celebrates Jesus's return into Jerusalem. This is not a bank holiday. Usually a catholic priest will burn ash and mix it with holy water to cool the ash down and then draw a cross on a persons forehead with the ash.

  • Maundy Thursday - 5th April 2007 - Maundy Thursday celebrates Jesus's Last Supper. Christian tradition includes going to church to have your feet washed. This is also not a bank holiday.

  • Good Friday - 6th April 2007 - Good Friday commemorates Jesus's crucifixion. It is called Good Friday as Catholics regard it as the liberation of Christians. You must not eat red meat on this day. Good Friday is treated as a Bank Holiday.

  • Easter Sunday - 8th April 2007 - Easter Sunday is usually celebrated by people giving chocolate Easter eggs to each other. Easter Sunday celebrates the resurrection of Christ. This is a Bank Holiday.

  • Easter Monday - 9th April 2007 - Easter Monday has no religious significance, although many western countries do use the term Easter Monday to name the bank holiday.
